Chow-daaah!

Damn, I love Chowder so much. Everything about it bursts with style and grace. And when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING! I don't think I've felt this way about a cartoon since Foster's. I've almost bought all the episodes from the Playstation Network. Christ I'm addicted.

The writing, animation, designs, voices, every damn THING! Sheesh I'm a fanboy now. Sall' good!

P.S.
So I decided to Wiki Chowder and came across some bad mouthing review. It was saying how the show was unoriginal in style and writing. Well you could guess I was pretty pissed off. I doubt Robert Rich, the writer of the review, is an artist so he wouldn't understand how much it takes to put into a design or character creation.

Anyway, I posted a pretty hot headed comment to his review which is the following:

"Chowder is nothing short of amazing. That last comment about the show was silly and unnecessary. The art direction by Dan Krall is stunning. The main characters have more style than a lot of cartoons out today. I'm an artist and I know how hard it is to make an original piece of art among a sea of artists. So for the creators of Chowder, I would give them a pat on the back for a job well done. I'm not saying the show is perfect. The writing is a little off at times, but that's it.

"But according to the show, his insatiable appetite is a good thing, as it's that hankering for food that saves the day in the first episode." No, you're wrong. If you had actually paid attention to the first episode, the ice cream man wheels out a girl version of the ice cream monster, which saves the day. Also, if you're talking about the second half of the show, then you would know that Mung, Schnitzel and Chowder made their home insanely huge to appease Truffles.

So no, his appetite did not save the day. Get your facts right."

My biggest gripe was that he trashed the show without getting his facts straight. Honestly, if you're gonna report on something at least know what the hell you're talking about. (rant over)

Gots to get stuff done!

I was watching some of my old test animations for my short I started in school and I need to complete it. My only regret is having to rush it so much during school. I lost sight of what was needed to be made. Mainly because of the class being three months and working with other people. Not to say that working with other people is bad, but when you don't have an understanding of the same art style it makes doing things very difficult. One idea that I never got across was that the animation wasn't paper doll animation. The animation test I did certainly didn't look like it at all, but of course I forgot to mention that during the class.

Anyway, hopefully someday I'll be able to get J.J. to dance with Jenny. Knowing what I know now can make it so much better. Until then, its work 24/7.

Christ, I suck at this!

I tried to paint my girlfriend a picture for her birthday and it didn't turn out so great. :(... Painting is so damn hard!!! Well anyway, the picture I drew didn't really translate at all so...yeah. Anyway, here they are. Maybe I'll just go buy her something and have the painting as a second gift. haha....I'm ashamed. Oh yeah, I tried to paint like the awesome people in The Incredibles art book (like the best, Lou Romano!), but yeah, didn't happen.
